yes, you read that right. we walked from canada to the US. and back. walked.
i've always wanted to say that. in fact, the only reason we did it was to experience what it was like to walk to the border. and to be able to say, "i was in 2 countries at the same time." haha... sounds like some movie i know.
so we drove to niagara falls. parked the car. then walked to new york state via the rainbow bridge.
it wasn't a long walk. in fact, it would only take you 5 minutes to cross the border. of course, it's a totally different story when you stop to take pictures.
here's the door that would take you from canada to the US -
the boundary line between US and canada -
the flags to mark the boundary lines -
what did we do in new york? we ate lunch. we had lunch at hard rock cafe.
and then headed back to canada again..

Wow! That was cool! I wish I could do that too...
that's cool! :D
uhmmn, ang iniisip ko e mag long drive from here to US or kahit dito sa Canada, mga isang linggo. Siguro kapag marunong na kong magdrive, gusto ko lang maranasan yung buong isang linggo o mahigit pa ako sa lansangan at pinupuntahan ang kasuluksulukan ng isang town :)
Sa Alliston pala ako, 45 minutes drive from Toronto, minsan nandyan kami.
Nakalink ka na rin po :). salamat sa link.
coolness!!!
we wanted to do that when i was there but after a quick check on some website, we thought it looked like a long walk. we decided to bring the car instead so that we'd have both time and energy to explore the ny side.
when we finally got there, traffic was heavy by the entrance of the bridge. without much to do, and stuck right by the canadian gate for god knows how long, we amused ourselves by trying to guess how long it took the people entering canada to walk from ny. with squinted eyes, we tried to figure out whether each person who arrived was sweating or out of breath from the walk.
next thing we knew, passengers of other cars before us started getting out of their car and walking toward the walkway. should we or should we not follow suit? will the long walk be better than the long wait in the car? will those who decided to walk get there first or will they end up disgruntled when traffic finally moves and they see their companion pass them by, taunting them for their decision to walk? and surely it would be heartless for us to leave my brother-in-law alone in traffic, right?
so we decided to stick it out in the car. all for one, one for all! and when we finally got to cross the border? we were like, "ngek! ganun lang pala ka-ikli yun?!?"
That is very cool!!! That is a long walk....just kidding.
